Destination Châteauneuf-du-pape

Nestled on the edge of Provence, Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation is rich in history, culture, and heritage. Choosing it as your destination means discovering the first AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) in France, but also participating in the fascinating history of the Popes of Avignon, immersing yourself in Roman architecture, and enjoying breathtaking landscapes between the Rhône River and Mont Ventoux.

A true land of taste, the five villages of the appellation cultivate a Provençal way of life under the Mistral wind. A true experience !

Since 2006, the AOC has been recognized as a Remarkable Site of Taste, a French tourist and gastronomic label given to regions. As a ‘conscious’ appellation, Châteauneuf-du-Pape also aligns itself with the Slow Food movement, an international association that opposes the degrading effects of the ‘fast-food’ phenomenon that standardizes tastes. It promotes the beneficial effects of local food by offering taste education programs for both adults and children. The association also works to preserve and promote public awareness of culinary traditions.
