The 47th ceremony of San Mark

San Mark is the feast of winegrowers. It originally had a religious dimension to both popular and rural. Over the past centuries, a procession went at dawn through the vineyards to the three shrines dedicated to the common San-Mark. His statue, out of the church, was carried by young winemakers. At noon, the villagers went to the tower of Hers to have a meal together. The winemakers were taste their best wines, the festival lasted until the end of the night.

 
This year once again the tradition is respected ... Great dinner of San Mark welcomes this Friday, April 26, 2013 a delegation of Italian sommeliers came from the Verona area.
 
Received this morning at the House of winemakers, sommeliers were a jury tasted the finalists of red Chateauneuf du Pape 2009. Fifteen samples from a receive tonight the Special Jury Prize.
