5 June 2026

Thirteen Châteauneuf-du-Pape estates unite for a charitable cuvée benefiting La Timone Hospital

At the initiative of Patrick Timsit, thirteen estates from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation have joined forces to produce a 2024 red vintage with a charitable purpose. One hundred and fifty bottles of this exceptional cuvée will be auctioned on Thursday 4 June 2026, to fund the acquisition of an MRI-Linac radiotherapy machine for children with cancer at La Timone hospital in Marseille.

An auction in support of sick children

The Rotary Club Aix Roy René is organising an exceptional charity auction evening on Thursday 4 June 2026 at Domaine de la Galinière in Châteauneuf-le-Rouge, in support of a medical project led by La Timone hospital (AP-HM). The goal is to enable the department headed by Professor Laetitia Padovani to acquire an MRI-Linac radiotherapy unit a cutting-edge piece of equipment designed to improve treatment outcomes for children with cancer. The evening will bring together many celebrities from the worlds of arts and sport, including Djamel Debbouze, François-Xavier Demaison, Thierry Lhermitte, Olivier Marchal and Michèle Laroque, invited by Patrick Timsit to host this solidarity event.

Patrick Timsit, a passionate ambassador for the appellation

A connoisseur of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines, Patrick Timsit has been personally involved in this project. On Friday 10 April 2026, he attended the opening of the “Les Printemps de Châteauneuf-du-Pape” fair to taste the freshly bottled cuvée. The label of this special wine, set to be unveiled soon, will draw a symbolic link between Marseille founded by the Phocaeans, to whom we owe the introduction of the vine to ancient Gaul and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This historical connection is a reminder that Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the six first appellations d’origine contrôlée to be recognised in France, by decree of President Albert Lebrun on 15 May 1936, alongside Arbois, Cassis, Cognac, Monbazillac and Tavel.

This charitable cuvée is the fruit of the generosity and talent of thirteen appellation estates that spontaneously answered the call: Domaine de la Barroche, Julien et Laetitia Barrot | Domaine Berthet-Rayne, Laure Berthet-Rayne | Domaine Bosquet des Papes, Nicolas Boiron | Domaine de la Charbonnière, Véronique et Caroline Maret | Domaine Durieu, François et Vincent Durieu | Domaine Giraud, Marie et François Giraud | Guillaume et Kelly Gonnet | Domaine de la Janasse, Christophe et Isabelle Sabon | Clos du Mont-Olivet, Thierry, Céline et David Sabon | Château Mont-Redon, Pierre Fabre | Clos de l’Oratoire, François Miquel | Domaine Pierre Usséglio, Thierry et Jean-Pierre Usséglio | Domaine du Vieux Donjon, Claire et François Michel
