Crau de Ma Mère is created from a selection of very old vines located at Crau, in the north east of the appellation, and is included in the Grenache Conservatory.
One of the parcels planted just after the phylloxera epidemic (1866) belonged to our paternal grandmother, Marie-Louise Mayard. Our father named the parcel “la Crau de ma Mère”, a name that has now passed on to this wine. We never knew our grandmother, so this is our way of paying tribute to her
The wine is mostly made up of grenache and mourvèdre with barely a hint of syrah.
Crau de Ma Mère is an excellent wine, both powerful and elegant and as sun-filled as its terroir. Its bouquet offers a complex palette of very ripe red berries and rounded tannins with a chocolate-flavoured final.
