In its October 2024 edition, La Revue du Vin de France devotes a double-page spread to Châteauneuf-du-Pape with “One Appellation, Two Styles,” a side-by-side comparison of Vincent Avril (Clos des Papes) and Édouard Brunier (Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe).
Through their exceptional white wines, these two iconic figures of the appellation reveal the diversity and richness of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s terroirs: freshness and salinity for one, a great minerality for the other.
The Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation offers a symphony of six white grape varieties (Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Clairette, and Picardan) that express the diversity of the appellation’s terroirs. With winemaking techniques varying from stainless steel tanks to oak barrels, and with or without malolactic fermentation, winemakers showcase their expertise in creating both powerful and refined wines.
Additionally, journalist and taster Roberto Petronio contributes a third page dedicated to the best vintages of each of these estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
