Arriving at the family estate in 1987, Vincent Avril has 31 vintages to his credit.
The estate, certified organic for fifteen years, has spread over the terroirs of Crau and Canto. Faithful to an unchanged philosophy, he produces a single cuvée, convinced that complexity comes from the blend of terroirs and grape varieties, sufficiently tannic to do without new wood.

Vincent reduced yields by favoring old vines and a rigorous selection at the harvest, ensuring a great wine. The style remains consistent, with an ever more careful breeding. The white retains a beautiful freshness over time, while red, from destemmed grapes, seduces with its concentrated and fine texture, the balance taking precedence over extraction. A work of goldsmith since many vintages.
On the terroir side, today there are 32 hectares with very diverse geological compositions: sands, pebbles, clays. The same goes for exhibitions.

The grape variety is typically south-rhodanian with Grenache noir, Mourvèdre and Syrah in dominant complemented by Counoise, Vaccarèse and Muscardin. For the white wine, Grenache blanc, Roussane, Clairette, Picpoul, Bourboulenc and Picardan.

All the vines, aged 80 years on average, have been cultivated in organic farming for almost 7 years.

On the cellar side, wines are traditionally aged in large oak casks for a year. No new wood at the Clos des Papes, and no filtration since 1988.
