Since the time of Napoleon Ill, the Mayard family owned a property in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Blandine Mayard, 6th generation, is at the head of the family estate, supported by his father Jean-Luc Mayard. Together, they continue the wine tradition.

Our vineyard, with an area of 14 hectares of vines where a wide variety of grape varieties intersect, is located at the four corners of Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. It is partly covered with pebbles, which gave the name of the domain in 1990. The complexity of our wines comes from a blend of different terroirs (pebbles, clay-limestone, sand and some urgonians) that will give our four cuvées.

Our Cellier du Galet des Papes, located in the heart of the village, opposite the parking lot of the DUFAYS room, 22 avenue Baron LeRoy, is open monday to saturday from April to early November. You can taste all our wines there, with different cuvées and vintages.

As the first AOC wine in France in 1936, the 3,150 hectares of the appellation extend over 5 communes: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Bédarrides, Courthézon, Orange, and Sorgues. With 300 harvest declarants, the appellation produces an average of 90,000 hectoliters per vintage, or about 12 million bottles, distributed to 93% for red wines and 7% for white wines. Benefiting from a unique natural heritage, the AOC relies on 13 grape varieties, 5 distinct terroirs, and an exceptional climate, marked by sun and mistral, to produce exceptional wines distributed mainly for export (66% of volumes in 2021). Historically and continuously committed to sustainable development issues, 35% of the AOC’s surfaces are managed in organic or biodynamic agriculture.
